Virtusa is a volume digital-engineering hirer. The academic floor is the usual 60% throughout story; the written can be longer and more mixed than a compact 90-minute paper, and HR may ask a 2-year agreement.
| Route | What usually changes | What stays the same |
|---|---|---|
| Campus / pool | PPT, college % list, ASE paper flavour | Aptitude + coding bar |
| Careers | Form + invite | Follow duration on the mail |
| Referral | Visibility | You still sit every elimination |
Off-campus does not mean easier coding. It often means more applicants who skip communication practice.
Is 6.0 CGPA enough? It matches the commonly reported floor across 10th, 12th, and graduation. A 6.2 who finishes the long written and speaks clearly beats an 8.5 who mumbles on SpeechX or blanks coding.
10th / 12th: They count. Keep scans.
Gaps and backlogs: No active backlogs. Max about 2 years gap in many tables. Full-time degrees only.
What helps the resume screen: Readable English, one project, Java if that is the campus language. See certifications after aptitude and speaking, not instead of them.

Written: Aptitude + pseudocode + coding (+ comms items on ASE)
Some tracks: SpeechX
Interview: Often short, Java/OOP/resume
Languages: C, C++, Java, Python
| Item | Typical expectation (candidate-reported) | Reality check |
|---|---|---|
| Graduation | 60% or 6.0 | Mailer wins |
| 10th & 12th | Same throughout rule | Keep scans |
| Branches | CS/IT plus listed circuital | Confirm drive |
| Backlogs | None live | Clear before joining |
| Relocate | Often pan-India language | HR will ask |
Good fit: You can sit a two-hour mixed paper without freezing, you will speak English into a mic if asked, and you will relocate. You already write Java or Python loops.
Harder path: You only practiced 40-minute aptitude dumps; you refuse a 2-year agreement you have not read; you freeze on read-aloud. Virtusa HR is a logistics round.
Branch myth: Listed ECE students still write code. SpeechX does not care about your branch code.

Previous year question papers
Virtusa does not publish a permanent official paper set. Papers on this site are pattern trainers for aptitude, pseudocode, coding, and interview themes.
| Round (typical) | What to practice |
|---|---|
| Compact OA | ~90 min aptitude + technical + 1-2 coding |
| ASE long written | ~64 Q / 2h 5min: aptitude, pseudocode, fundamentals, comms, coding |
| SpeechX (some tracks) | Read, listen, short speak |
| Technical | Short Java/OOP or longer specialist tech |
| HR | City, Why Virtusa, 2-year agreement |
Think of papers as stamina simulators. Virtusa reuses section types more than exact clones.
| Theme you saw | Drill next | Why Virtusa asks it |
|---|---|---|
| Quant speed | Percentages, time-work | Written |
| Pseudocode | Trace loops | ASE domain |
| Coding | Two complete easies | Written + interview |
| Java OOP | Collections, pillars | ASE technical |
| Speech | Read-aloud paragraph | SpeechX / comms items |
Virtusa hires freshers through campus cells, careers, and referrals. After eligibility, expect a written filter that may be longer than 90 minutes, optional SpeechX, a technical that is often short and Java-heavy, and HR that may name a 2-year agreement.

Referrals
Help the screen. You still need the written and, if named, SpeechX.
60% throughout, listed degrees, no live backlogs. Gate.
Shape A (compact): ~90 minutes, aptitude + technical + 1-2 coding.
Shape B (ASE 2024): 64 questions, 2 hours 5 minutes, aptitude + pseudocode + fundamentals + communication + tough coding. Same-day results in that note.
Shape C (Jr DS 2026): 90 min MCQs + 2 easy coding, then a separate SpeechX.
Pass habit: match the clock to the invite. Do not practise only 60-minute dumps if the college used the 125-minute ASE paper last year.
Read/listen/repeat, grammar, short speak. The Jr DS 2026 note placed it after OA before onsite technicals. ASE 2024 folded communication into the written. Practise full sentences.
Pass habit: short, specific answers. If the resume says Java, expect Java. If the title is data scientist, expect stats talk plus one coding problem.
ASE 2024: ~10 minutes, relocation, 2-year service agreement. Jr DS 2026: ~10 minutes, Why Virtusa, pan-India relocate. Know ₹4-5.5 LPA from public reports and say you will read the letter.
| Phase | Duration | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Apply / screen | Days | Eligibility list |
| Written (+ SpeechX) | 1-3 days | Same-day results in ASE 2024 |
| Technical + HR | Same day to 1 week | Jr DS stacked two techs then next-day HR |
| Offer | Days | Written letter wins |
| End to end | ~2-4 weeks common | Calendars slip |
| Component | Focus | Prep move this week |
|---|---|---|
| Aptitude | Speed | Timed mock quiz |
| Pseudocode | Trace loops | One dry-run daily |
| Coding | Complete submits | Two easies |
| SpeechX | Fluency | 60-second intro |
| Java tech | OOP, collections | One class + one bug |
| HR | City, 2-year clause | Decide on paper |
The ASE 2024 HR explicitly asked a 2-year service agreement. Your drive may differ.
Write three lines before HR:
Asking is professional. Discovering the clause after a classroom yes is how people panic-sign.
| Day | 15-minute drill |
|---|---|
| 1 | Record intro. Cut fillers. |
| 2 | Read a paragraph aloud; listen back |
| 3 | 20 grammar MCQs |
| 4 | Project in 40 seconds |
| 5 | Why Virtusa in 30 seconds |
| 6 | Full mock: intro + project + why |
| 7 | Best take once. Sleep. |
Saturday 10:00: either 90-min compact or 125-min ASE-style (pick the one your invite implies).
Saturday 13:00: two coding completes.
Saturday 16:00: speaking + grammar.
Sunday 11:00: 20-minute Java oral.
Sunday 12:00: HR including city and agreement.
Two weekends of that beat twelve nights of random dumps.
10th, 12th, all semesters, ID, resume one page. Name and percentages must match the form.
The 2024 ASE note is 125 minutes, 64 questions, mixed types including tough coding. That is a different sport from a 60-minute aptitude dump.
| Block (adjust to your invite) | Job |
|---|---|
| First 10 min | Skim; mark easy aptitude; note coding count |
| Next 40 min | Quant + easy logical + verbal you can finish |
| Next 25 min | Pseudocode + fundamentals MCQs; trace on scrap |
| Next 10 min | Communication items (read, grammar); do not skip |
| Remaining | Coding. Submit one running solution before you invent a second |
If coding is separately timed, follow that clock instead. The point is: do not arrive at minute 100 with zero coding keystrokes.
ASE-style papers like a 12-line loop with a counter and a break. Trace on scrap paper: line, variables, output. Do not “see the pattern” from a Telegram screenshot.
Habit: one dry-run per day for 10 days. Pair with OOP/DBMS one-liners (primary key, deadlock, ArrayList vs array). That is the fundamentals block.
ASE 2024 interviews were short. You will not finish a system design. You might get:
== and .equalsPractise answering in 40 seconds, then stop. Filling silence with buzzwords is how short rounds go badly.
Jr Data Scientist 2026 had SpeechX and two full-hour technicals (RAG/ML projects, then probability + string DSA). If your form says ASE, do not cram transformers. If your form says Jr DS, do not skip stats. The shared pieces are OA discipline, speaking, and relocate honesty.
HR asked pan-India relocate in both the ASE and Jr DS notes. If you will only work in Hyderabad, say Hyderabad and accept that you may lose the seat. If you will move for 18 months, say that. Lying and then refusing the joining location burns the college’s next Virtusa cycle.
A Virtusa campus can take a large ASE batch and still reject you for a blank coding section or a whispered SpeechX. Volume is not a participation trophy. Your job is to be easy to say yes to: complete written, clear speech, Java one-liners, agreement answer ready, documents matching the form.

| Bucket | Share | What “done” looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Timed aptitude + pseudocode | 35% | Correct clock for your invite |
| Coding completes | 25% | Two greens, not five half writes |
| Speech / comms (if named) | 15% | 60-second intro without freeze |
| Java / OOP / resume | 15% | 15-minute oral |
| HR logistics | 10% | City + 2-year sentence |
The biggest miss is practising only a 60-minute dump for a 2-hour ASE paper, or skipping SpeechX because “it is just English.”
Mon-Tue: two full writtens at the real duration.
Wed: coding only.
Thu: Java oral + pseudocode.
Fri: speaking + HR.
Sat: combined mock.
Sun: error log, sleep.
If you have eight weeks, use the nested guide.
Reuse aptitude skip rules. Add Virtusa extras only: correct written duration, SpeechX if named, 2-year agreement sentence. Hexaware also has SpeechX plus GET/PGET pricing. Do not pay for three dump PDFs. Keep one language and one intro recording.
Read the PPT slide. If it names years and an amount, copy both onto paper. Compare to any other offer you hold (city, CTC, clause). If Virtusa is your only live process, decide whether you can live with two years in Hyderabad/Chennai. If you cannot, do not fake a yes in HR. Colleges notice ghosts.
If the PPT never names a clause, do not invent one. If HR names it cold, ask for the amount and the PDF line. “I will read the letter and reply tomorrow” is allowed. “Sure, whatever” is how people sign things they did not read.
The 2024 ASE writer called coding tough inside the 64-question paper. The 2026 Jr DS OA was two easy coding problems plus MCQs. Same company, different forms. Practise completes either way. A tough ASE coding section still rewards one running solution more than a brilliant fragment. If you do not know which form you have, ask the cell the duration in minutes and mock that number, not a blog’s 90-minute default. Write that number on a sticky note on the laptop bezel the night before so you do not “remember 90” when the timer says 125. If the cell cannot tell you the duration, mock 125 minutes once anyway so the long paper cannot surprise you. A long mock is wasted if you never sit the last 20 minutes.
If a Virtusa invite is 3-8 weeks out, treat this hub as the map and the linked practice pages as the drills. Do not reread eligibility ten times. Check the JD once, then spend hours on the filter that actually rejects people.
Typical fresher CTC chatter for Virtusa sits around ₹4-5.5 LPA (candidate-reported - confirm the letter). Languages students mention most often: Java, C++, Python, C. Pick one and stay with it in OA and interviews.
Eligibility reminder (from student reports): Candidate-reported campus floors commonly cite 60% or 6.0+ CGPA across 10th, 12th, and graduation; B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech/MCA/M.Sc (CS/IT and related); final-year and recent grads (often within 2 years); no active backlogs; max about 2 years education gap; full-time degrees. Always verify the drive notice.
What you are training for: Two shapes appear in write-ups. Compact: OA (~90 min aptitude + technical + coding) → technical → HR. ASE 2024 GFG: 64 questions in 2 hours 5 minutes mixing aptitude, pseudocode, fundamentals, communication, and tough coding, then a 15-20 minute Java technical and ~10 minute HR that asked relocation and a 2-year service agreement. Some specialist tracks add SpeechX and two technicals. Count the mailer.
Short version of the prep split: Split time roughly: 35% timed aptitude, 25% coding completes, 15% pseudocode/fundamentals, 15% spoken English if SpeechX is named, 10% Java/OOP + HR (city, 2-year agreement). Full plan: /virtusa/preparation-guide/.
Week 1 - pattern, not vibes. Oa pattern first: sit one untimed paper, then redo it under the real clock. Open the Virtusa previous-year sets on this site and mark which sections ate your time. Write the timing on a sticky note. That number is more useful than a 200-problem LeetCode streak you never timed.
Week 2 - the steep filter. Most Virtusa drives fail people on the first timed paper or OA. Do three timed sits this week. After each one, log every miss in a two-column note: topic and why (slow, wrong formula, bad edge case, panic). The next sit should only add problems from that log.
Week 3 - talk tracks. Technical interviews at Virtusa usually want a clean project story, one or two CS fundamentals, and (if the process has it) a behavioral or values round. Write STAR stories on paper, not in your head. Practise “Why Virtusa?” with one concrete product, lab, or business line - not a slogan.
Week 4 - mocks and logistics. Star stories + one project walkthrough recorded on your phone. If you still have energy, redo only the questions you failed in week 2.
| Slice | Share of weekly hours | What “done” looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Timed papers / OA | ~40% | You finish a Virtusa-style sit without guessing the clock |
| Coding / role technical | ~30% | You can explain a solution out loud in your chosen language |
| Fundamentals / domain | ~20% | You can teach one OS/DBMS/networks (or domain) topic to a friend |
| Stories + HR | ~10% | Two STAR stories and a specific Why-this-company answer |
If you only have 10 days, keep the same ratios and cut volume, not the timed sits.
Use this hub for the Virtusa story (eligibility, rounds, salary). Use those pages for timed reps and interview notes.
If you do one thing after reading this: schedule three timed Virtusa papers on three different days, then interview prep on the leftovers.
A TCS/Infosys aptitude deck still helps the quant/logic slice of many Virtusa papers, but do not assume the same cutoff culture. Read the process section on this page once, then swap in Virtusa-specific coding or domain drills from the nested banks. Shared prep is fine; shared assumptions about rounds are not.
Days 1-3: one timed Virtusa paper each day plus error log. Days 4-6: only the topics you missed, plus 4-6 coding problems in one language. Days 7-8: project + STAR + Why Virtusa. Day 9: one more full mock. Day 10: light review and sleep. This is worse than four weeks, but it beats rereading notes the night before.
Figures below are candidate-reported India bands (as of August 2026). Actual offers depend on role, location, hiring year, and written components.
| Band | Typical CTC (candidate-reported) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Software Engineer / ASE (fresher) | ₹4-5.5 LPA | Primary band for this hub |
| Associate (1-2 YOE blogs) | ₹6-7 LPA | Not the campus default |
| Specialist (e.g. Jr DS) | Role-specific | Different loop; still confirm letter |
Confirm base vs variable and service agreement on the written offer.
Health insurance, training, shift norms, relocation across Hyderabad/Chennai/Bengaluru/Pune. Digital engineering is the PPT story; day-one work is still an account team.
Know ₹4-5.5 LPA. Ask the 2-year clause if the PPT showed one. Ask joining city.
Two written shapes
Compact 90-minute OA and the 64Q / 2h 5min ASE paper both exist in recent notes. Read the invite.
SpeechX on specialist tracks
Jr DS 2026 listed SpeechX after OA. Practise speaking if named.
2-year agreement in HR
ASE 2024 asked it explicitly. Decide before the cabin.
Short Java technicals
15-20 minutes on ASE. Fundamentals, not TinyURL.
Net for 2026: do not wait for Virtusa to become a design-round company. Match the written clock, keep speaking warm, know the agreement answer.
Yes. Free Virtusa placement papers PDF and 2024-2026 style practice are on this site. Start with the 2026 PDF or the archive.
Written (90 min or ASE 2h 5min) → optional SpeechX → technical → HR. Often 2-4 weeks. Details: online assessment.
Often 3. Jr DS 2026 added SpeechX and two long technicals. Count the mailer.
One 2024 note: 64 questions, 2 hours 5 minutes, aptitude + pseudocode + fundamentals + communication + tough coding. Other invites are still ~90 minutes. Invite wins.
Yes on some tracks (Jr DS 2026). ASE 2024 folded comms into the long written. Practise speaking if named.
C, C++, Java, Python. ASE technicals are often Java-focused. Pick one you can finish.
Commonly 60% or 6.0 throughout; listed degrees; no live backlogs; gap ≤ ~2 years. Your mailer wins.
ASE / SWE ~₹4-5.5 LPA (candidate-reported, August 2026). Confirm the letter.
ASE 2024 HR asked a 2-year service agreement. Drive-specific. Decide before HR. Ask for the clause in writing.
Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune. Pan-India relocate is a common HR question.
Match the written clock, coding completes, speaking if named, Java/OOP, HR logistics. Guide: preparation guide.
If the invite is the long ASE paper, train 2-hour stamina plus comms items. Know the 2-year answer before HR. Finish coding submits.
Same volume-services family. Virtusa’s twist is the long ASE written, SpeechX on some tracks, and a documented 2-year HR question. Hexaware splits GET/PGET and SpeechX. HCL pools may add GD/paper-pen. Prep aptitude+speaking for Virtusa and Hexaware; add Virtusa’s agreement sentence.
No. Jr DS 2026 had SpeechX and two long technicals (ML/RAG + DS theory). ASE 2024 had a long written and a short Java chat. Prepare the title on your form.
HR will ask. If you will not go, say so and take another offer. That is cleaner than a day-one no-show.
No. Compact invites are ~90 minutes. ASE 2024 was 2 hours 5 minutes / 64 questions. Read the mailer before you mock the wrong clock.
Yes if the notice includes your branch. The written and SpeechX do not grade your branch code. Submit at least one program.
First round: 64 questions, 2 hours 5 minutes, aptitude + pseudocode + fundamentals + communication + tough coding. Results the same day. Technical: 15-20 minutes, Java-focused. HR: ~10 minutes, relocation and a 2-year service agreement. Takeaway: stamina on the long paper, then a short Java oral, then an agreement answer you already decided. Source: GeeksforGeeks ASE.
OA: 90 min MCQs + 2 easy coding. SpeechX. Onsite Tech 1 ~1 hour on AI/ML/RAG projects and coding. Tech 2: “Duration: 1 hour (Conducted exactly 1 hour after Technical Interview 1 concluded)” covering DS theory, probability, and string DSA. Next-day 10-minute HR: Why Virtusa and pan-India relocate. Results shortly after. Takeaway: specialist titles are a different loop; still expect speaking and relocate. Source: GeeksforGeeks Jr DS.
What to steal: correct written clock; speaking drills; Java one-liners for ASE; agreement + city sentences.
What to ignore: Paying for dumps; assuming every drive is 90 minutes; quoting 8 LPA on ASE.
Written composite: Candidates who practised 2-hour mixed papers did not collapse in the last 20 minutes. Candidates who only timed 60-minute dumps ran out of coding time. Stamina is the bar.
SpeechX composite: Whispered restarts fail. A daily paragraph for a week sounds “average” and passes. Average is the bar.
HR composite: Ten minutes is enough to lose a seat on relocate or agreement. Candidates who had a written yes/no for the 2-year clause answered in one sentence. Candidates who said “I will see” looked like they would ghost. Decide tonight.
Java composite: Short ASE technicals reward people who can say “I used HashMap for frequency because get is O(1) expected” and then stop. They do not reward people who start explaining JVM internals they saw in a reel.
Virtusa is volume digital engineering with a longer written on some ASE drives. ₹4-5.5 LPA is a real job. SpeechX and a 2-year clause are real on named tracks. Students who treat communication as optional and the invite duration as optional are the ones those GFG notes are about.
Use timed papers on this site. Follow the preparation guide. Read interview experience and the HR page. Record your intro. Finish two programs. Decide the agreement on paper. Print 10th and 12th. Then sit the drive.
If Virtusa and HCL/Mphasis/Hexaware all land the same week, compare bond years, city, and whether SpeechX already passed. A 5 LPA ASE you will join beats a rumour 6 LPA with a clause you cannot live with. Classroom “selected” is not a letter. Wait for the PDF.
Day-one work is still a project and a stack you are assigned. “I will only do GenAI” is a bad HR answer. “I will learn the stack and I already write Java” is the ASE answer.
Interview day logistics: Laptop charged; quiet room for SpeechX; college ID for onsite. Do not sit a 2-hour paper on flaky hostel Wi-Fi.
Keep practising until skip rules, a complete submit, and a 60-second intro are automatic. That is Virtusa. Everything else is decoration.
