SBI is not TCS. There is no 6.5 CGPA campus list. Eligibility lives in the advertisement PDF for that post and year. This hub is written for students who will sit SBI PO 2026 as the main path, with Clerk and Specialist Cadre called out where they differ.

Clerk has no interview on the usual Junior Associate path. If you cannot pass the local language test for the state you applied, the Mains score does not save you.
SBI CGPA criteria
There is no 7.0 CGPA gate. A 6.2 engineer and a 9.0 engineer sit the same Prelims. What looks like a “cutoff” later is a score cutoff (category-wise, state-wise for Clerk), not a college CGPA. If a random blog prints “SBI 6.5 CGPA,” ignore it.

SBI does not sell an official “placement paper pack.” Previous-year memory-based papers and our practice PDFs are pattern trainers for Prelims and Mains. They are not tomorrow’s live set. The notification remains the legal pattern.

Think of papers as simulators for a 60-minute Prelims clock. SBI reuses families (simplification, quadratic, seating, RC, DI tables) more than exact clones. If you can finish a 2024 Prelims mock with 5 minutes spare, a 2026 shift will feel familiar even when the puzzle is new.
Themes that keep repeating (2024-2026)
- Prelims: Sectional timing is the real exam. People who are “good at Quant” still die in English RC because they never practised 20 minutes. Negative marking 0.25. 2026 cycle notes: sectional cutoffs in Prelims removed in recent years; overall score matters for that phase (still confirm the PDF).
- Mains: DI is the scoreboard. GA is the differentiator for people who only drilled puzzles. Descriptive is short (30 min / 30 marks in 2026 summaries) but non-zero.

- Next day: one Mains DI set and 15 GA questions from the same week’s current affairs.
- Once a week: one descriptive (email or precis) in 30 minutes, typed.

From application to offer at SBI
SBI does not hire POs through your college TPO the way Infosys does. You apply on the bank portal, sit a national CBT, then (for PO) a Group Exercise and interview. Specialist tech cadres are a different advertisement.

Objective (commonly 200 marks, ~3 hours, sectional timers) plus descriptive (30 marks / 30 minutes in 2026 cycle summaries).

GA without drowning
- Weekly: RBI policy, SBI product news, budget/economy headlines, appointments, reports (WPI/CPI) in one notebook.
- Daily: 10 MCQs from a current capsule, not a new app.
- Interview: 5 SBI-specific facts (largest bank, digital channels, recent initiative you actually understand).
Memorising 400 pages the night before Mains is how people score 8 in GA.
Documents and biometrics
Keep graduation/provisional certificate, category certificate, photo ID, photo, signature scans. 2026 commentary: Aadhaar verification emphasised. Do not put mehndi or chemicals on fingers around exam week; biometric mismatch is a real rejection reason in bank exams.
Bond and posting: decide before you apply
Widely cited for PO 2026: ₹2 lakh bond, 3 years. Posting is anywhere in India. If you cannot leave your city, Clerk in your state (with LPT) may fit better than PO. Filling PO “for prestige” and freezing in interview wastes an attempt (Mains counts).
Clerk (Junior Associate) pattern students actually sit
Exact Q/marks live in that year’s Clerk PDF. The shape does not change much:
- Prelims: English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning with sectional timers and 0.25 negative marking. Qualifying.
- Mains: Quantitative, reasoning, English, plus computer/GA flavours as notified. Merit for language-test shortlist.
- LPT: You must prove the local language of the state you applied for. Engineers who pick a high-vacancy state they cannot speak often die here.
If you want a home-state job and cannot accept pan-India PO posting, Clerk is the honest form. Do not fill both “just in case” without reading attempt and exam-date clashes.
Mains DI: a 6-minute set habit
- Read the question, not the paragraph first.
- Write one ratio or one total.
- Answer the two easiest questions in the set.
- If the caselet needs three variables, skip and return.
Five such sets a week after Prelims beat a 300-page DI book you never time.
Descriptive 30 minutes (2026-style)
Coaching summaries of the 2026 ad point to email, situation analysis, report or precis rather than the old 50-mark letter+essay pair. Practice:
- Email: subject, purpose in line 1, three bullets, polite close. 120-150 words.
- Situation: what you would do as a PO (customer, staff, risk), not a moral essay.
- Precis: one-third length, no new opinions.
Type on a keyboard. Handwritten practice does not transfer.
Attempt maths (PO)
UR/EWS: 6 Mains appearances. Prelims-only does not count. If you are in the last attempt, treat Mains GA as non-negotiable. SC/ST: no restriction in that cycle’s table; still read the PDF. Do not burn an attempt on a half-ready Mains because Telegram said “form last day.”
Pre-exam training
SBI may offer a short orientation for SC/ST/minority candidates at listed centres, own cost, opt-in on the form. It is not a secret paper. Use it for exam temperament if you qualify; do not skip your own mocks because training exists.
Engineer-specific trap
You will outrun many candidates in Quant and still fail English or GA. Build RC and banking awareness on the same calendar as simplification. A 9.0 B.Tech with 12/40 English is a common first-attempt story. Fix the 20-minute English section like it is a lab exam.
Group Exercise: what “good enough” looks like
You are not running a college debate. You are showing you can talk in a group without killing the topic.
- One clear opening if the topic is banking/economy (you have GA notes; use one fact).
- Two short adds, not a monologue.
- Invite a quiet person in if the group is a mess. Panels notice.
- Disagree with a reason, then let the group move.
Topics: digital payments, financial inclusion, a budget headline, “should POs be posted in home state only” (trap: the job is pan-India).
Interview: five questions to write tonight
- Why SBI, not IBPS PO or a private bank?
- Why PO, not Clerk, given posting?
- One RBI policy you can explain in 40 seconds.
- A customer-service story (college club counts).
- Bond and 3-year stay: yes or no, without theatre.
If any answer is a slogan, rewrite it. Panels have heard “largest bank in India” two hundred times that week.
Vacancy maths without hopium
1500 PO seats in 2026 is more than 541 in 2025. It is still a national exam. Cutoffs move; English and GA still delete engineers who only drilled Quant. Plan for Mains as the real exam from day one of the form.
What this hub will not do
It will not replace the notification PDF. Sectional tables drift on coaching sites. If 2027 changes descriptive marks again, trust the new ad. Our PDFs train QRE stamina; they do not leak tomorrow’s shift.
Shift-day logistics
Admit card, photo ID, banned-item list (watch, notes, phone). Reach the centre early. Sectional timer does not pause because you were in a queue. For Mains, a working keyboard habit matters for descriptive; do not first-touch-type on exam day. Biometric: clean dry fingers.
After Prelims, before Mains
Do not take a two-week holiday. Move 70% of time to DI, GA, and one descriptive every other day. Keep a light Prelims set once a week so you do not go rusty if the calendar slips. The students who “rest after Prelims” are the ones who miss the interview list on GA. Keep the same notebook; do not start a new app for Mains. One capsule, one error log, one keyboard for descriptive is enough.

If a SBI invite is 3-8 weeks out, treat this hub as the map and the linked practice pages as the drills. Do not reread eligibility ten times. Check the JD once, then spend hours on the filter that actually rejects people.
Typical fresher CTC chatter for SBI sits around ₹5-10 LPA (candidate-reported - confirm the letter). Languages students mention most often: Java, C. Pick one and stay with it in OA and interviews.

A four-week plan that actually gets used
Week 1 - pattern, not vibes. Timed aptitude + one easy coding problem a day, plus a one-page cs fundamentals sheet. Open the SBI previous-year sets on this site and mark which sections ate your time. Write the timing on a sticky note. That number is more useful than a 200-problem LeetCode streak you never timed.
Week 2 - the steep filter. Most SBI drives fail people on the first timed paper or OA. Do three timed sits this week. After each one, log every miss in a two-column note: topic and why (slow, wrong formula, bad edge case, panic). The next sit should only add problems from that log.
Week 3 - talk tracks. Technical interviews at SBI usually want a clean project story, one or two CS fundamentals, and (if the process has it) a behavioral or values round. Write STAR stories on paper, not in your head. Practise “Why SBI?” with one concrete product, lab, or business line - not a slogan.
Week 4 - mocks and logistics. Two full mocks, then only error-log topics - no new patterns. If you still have energy, redo only the questions you failed in week 2.
