| Route | What usually changes | What stays the same |
|---|---|---|
| Campus tech | Coding/SQL OA, Java/Python interview | Communication still matters |
| Campus / careers officer | Aptitude, GD, banking HR | 60% filters common |
| ABYB | L1 CBT + L2 AI video + program fee | Sales joining after training |
| Referral | Visibility | You still sit the test |
axisbank.com/careers is year-round. Campus clusters in placement season. ABYB has its own site and calendar.
Is 60% enough? It matches the commonly reported floor for many Axis fresher programs (often through 10th, 12th, and graduation). A 61% who speaks clearly and knows CASA beats an 8.5 who freezes on “tell me about a customer conflict.”
Tech JDs may add branch (CS/IT/ECE) and a coding bar. ABYB is typically any graduate within age limits on that brochure.
Backlogs: none active preferred at joining. Private-bank HR will still ask.
What helps: one internship or college fest with a metric, clean communication, and (for tech) a SQL-backed project. Five “digital banking” MOOCs you cannot explain are noise. See certifications after the OA.

Skills they actually filter
Officer: Aptitude + communication + products
Tech: Aptitude + coding/SQL
ABYB: L1 speed + L2 video presence
Exam filter: Axis Bank Online Test
Good fit (officer/ABYB): You can talk without reading a script, you will sell or service products, you accept pan-India posting, you can learn compliance without calling it “boring HR.”
Good fit (tech): You can finish an aptitude section and still write a join query, you know why a bank cares about latency and audit logs, you will sit in a GCC-style office.
Harder path: You prep only IBPS GA and skip speaking; you prep only LeetCode and skip aptitude; you refuse all branch cities; you confuse ABYB fee with a salaried offer.
Chances snapshot:
| Situation | Selection chances | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Below 60% on many programs | Low | Off-campus exceptions rare |
| 60-70%, weak communication | Officer risk | GD/AI video |
| 60-70%, strong SQL/Java | Tech path open | OA still exists |
| Above 75% | Helps shortlist | Does not talk for you |

Two days: aptitude mocks.
One day: banking products + RBI headlines.
One day: SQL/coding or GD/AI video (match track).
One day: intro + Why Axis.
Weekend: 2024, 2025, or 2026.
If the mailer is ABYB, do not spend the weekend on graph DP.

Axis Bank Online Test / ABYB L1
| Family | Sections students report | Pass habit |
|---|---|---|
| Officer aptitude | Quant, reasoning, English, GA/banking | Accuracy + skip |
| Tech OA | Aptitude + coding and/or SQL | Finish easy code |
| ABYB L1 | Verbal, numeric, reasoning, GA | Sectional speed |
Negative marking appears on some vendor papers. Follow the instruction screen. Time box: do not sit 12 minutes on one puzzle.
ABYB L2 (if that program)
AI video: think aloud in clean English, look at the camera, answer the prompt. This is not a coding round.
GD (some officer loops)
8-10 minutes. Banking topic. Structured opening. Do not attack.
Technical interview (tech track)
Java/Python basics, OOP, SQL (joins, group by, duplicates), one project, maybe a small code. Banks care about correctness and audit-friendly thinking, not contest hacks.
HR / combined interview
Why Axis (private bank, digital, not IBPS), customer STAR, relocation, notice, for ABYB an honest read of the fee and sales role.
| Phase | Duration | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Campus register / PPT | Drive week | Eligibility |
| OA / L1 | 1 day | Aptitude (± coding) |
| Interviews / L2 | 2-14 days | Tech/HR or AI video |
| Campus offer | 1-3 weeks | Letter |
| ABYB full path | ~12 months | Classroom + intern + OJT |
Total: campus 2-6 weeks common. ABYB is a year, not a week.
If you only remember three numbers: 60% floor on many programs, campus tech often ₹5-10 LPA chatter, ABYB AM ~₹4.2-4.4 LPA after a paid year.
Q1: frequency of elements / top-k. Hash map.
Q2: SQL: employees with duplicate emails (GROUP BY + HAVING COUNT > 1).
Students who only practised nested loops and never wrote SQL fail the “tech bank” story.
Minute 0-15: English RC or grammar, whichever you finish with higher accuracy in mocks.
Minute 15-35: quant. Simplification and one DI. Leave the ugly caselet.
Minute 35-50: reasoning. Inequalities and syllogism before a seating set.
Minute 50-60: GA/banking one-liners you actually know. Guessing RBI dates is how people donate marks when negative marking is on.
That box is how private-bank aptitude stays closer to a campus test than to an IBPS mains marathon. You still need products for the room after the test.
L2 is not a trick coding question. It is whether you can be put in front of a customer after training. Treat it like that.
GROUP BY + HAVING for duplicates.customer_id vs scanning the whole table.Ten minutes a night for a week covers more Axis tech interviews than a new Spring Boot course.
Situation: a fest stall / hostel complaint / internship ticket, not “a billion-user outage.”
Task: what you owned.
Action: what you did, including the boring follow-up.
Result: a number or a closed loop (refund issued, wait time down, ticket closed same day).
Private-bank HR has heard “I am a people person.” They have not heard your specific closed loop. Write three STARs: conflict, deadline, mistake. Keep them 45 seconds each.

If a Axis Bank invite is 3-8 weeks out, treat this hub as the map and the linked practice pages as the drills. Do not reread eligibility ten times. Check the JD once, then spend hours on the filter that actually rejects people.
Typical fresher CTC chatter for Axis Bank sits around ₹5-10 LPA (candidate-reported - confirm the letter). Languages students mention most often: Java, Python, C, Go. Pick one and stay with it in OA and interviews.
Eligibility reminder (from student reports): Common campus and program notes: about 60% or equivalent through 10th, 12th, and graduation for many PO/tech/Young Bankers-style filters; no active backlogs preferred; Indian graduates. Tech tracks want engineering/MCA plus basic coding or SQL. Always verify the college mailer, axisbank.com/careers, or the ABYB portal PDF.
What you are training for: Role-dependent. Technology campus: resume screen, Axis Bank online test (aptitude plus coding/SQL on some drives), technical interview, HR. Officer/RM fresher loops: aptitude, sometimes GD, combined technical/HR with communication and banking awareness (Internshala-style notes). ABYB: Level-1 aptitude assessment, Level-2 AI video, then a paid training program before Assistant Manager joining. End-to-end campus often 2-6 weeks; ABYB is a year-long pipeline.
Short version of the prep split: Match the track. Officer/ABYB: 40% aptitude, 25% English/reasoning, 20% banking awareness and communication, 15% interview/GD. Tech: 35% aptitude, 35% coding/SQL, 20% CS/projects, 10% HR. Weekly mocks on this site.
Week 1 - pattern, not vibes. Oa pattern first: sit one untimed paper, then redo it under the real clock. Open the Axis Bank previous-year sets on this site and mark which sections ate your time. Write the timing on a sticky note. That number is more useful than a 200-problem LeetCode streak you never timed.
Week 2 - the steep filter. Most Axis Bank drives fail people on the first timed paper or OA. Do three timed sits this week. After each one, log every miss in a two-column note: topic and why (slow, wrong formula, bad edge case, panic). The next sit should only add problems from that log.
Week 3 - talk tracks. Technical interviews at Axis Bank usually want a clean project story, one or two CS fundamentals, and (if the process has it) a behavioral or values round. Write STAR stories on paper, not in your head. Practise “Why Axis Bank?” with one concrete product, lab, or business line - not a slogan.
Week 4 - mocks and logistics. Star stories + one project walkthrough recorded on your phone. If you still have energy, redo only the questions you failed in week 2.
| Slice | Share of weekly hours | What “done” looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Timed papers / OA | ~40% | You finish a Axis Bank-style sit without guessing the clock |
| Coding / role technical | ~30% | You can explain a solution out loud in your chosen language |
| Fundamentals / domain | ~20% | You can teach one OS/DBMS/networks (or domain) topic to a friend |
| Stories + HR | ~10% | Two STAR stories and a specific Why-this-company answer |
If you only have 10 days, keep the same ratios and cut volume, not the timed sits.
Use this hub for the Axis Bank story (eligibility, rounds, salary). Use those pages for timed reps and interview notes.
If you do one thing after reading this: schedule three timed Axis Bank papers on three different days, then interview prep on the leftovers.
A TCS/Infosys aptitude deck still helps the quant/logic slice of many Axis Bank papers, but do not assume the same cutoff culture. Read the process section on this page once, then swap in Axis Bank-specific coding or domain drills from the nested banks. Shared prep is fine; shared assumptions about rounds are not.
Days 1-3: one timed Axis Bank paper each day plus error log. Days 4-6: only the topics you missed, plus 4-6 coding problems in one language. Days 7-8: project + STAR + Why Axis Bank. Day 9: one more full mock. Day 10: light review and sleep. This is worse than four weeks, but it beats rereading notes the night before.
Figures are candidate-reported as of August 2026 unless noted as ABYB portal FAQ.
| Role band | Typical CTC (reported) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Campus tech / IT developer | ₹5-8 LPA | Some hubs quote up to ~₹10 |
| Officer / AM (non-ABYB campus) | Inside ₹5-10 LPA chatter | Confirm letter |
| ABYB Assistant Manager | ~₹4.2-4.4 LPA after program | Different path + fee |
| RM / CSO entry notes | ~₹2.5-3.5 LPA in some guides | Incentives extra |
ABYB program fee on recent portals is a few lakhs including GST (classroom, hostel, etc.). That is not Axis “paying you to train” in the campus-tech sense. Read both columns before you compare to a TCS offer.
How to read ₹5-10 LPA: campus tech/officer cluster, not ABYB, not every CSO. Ask base vs incentive.
Growth: AM → manager on business and audits. Tech: developer → senior on delivery. Do not quote a PSU Scale-I basic here.
If you already have IBPS mocks, keep aptitude, cut the 8-month GA grind unless you also sit SBI, and add speaking practice. Axis fails mute high-scorers.
Vendor CBTs, camera for ABYB, campus labs for tech. Screenshot applications. ABYB has a small registration fee plus a large program fee. Do not mix them.
Young Bankers, Assistant Manager, Relationship Executive, IT Developer, Analyst. The email subject is the syllabus.
Axis technology teams (cards, UPI, lending APIs, mobile) sit closer to a product-engineering day than to a branch roster. Interviews still ask banking one-liners because you work inside a regulated bank. Branch/ABYB days are customers, scripts, and audits. Students who walk into a tech HR and talk only about “sales targets I will crush” sound like they applied to the wrong PDF. Students who walk into ABYB and talk only about Kubernetes sound the same in reverse.
A clean split for prep:
If you only have four weeks, pick one evening and do not half-do both. A 40% SQL plus a 40% video usually loses both rooms.
It is fair to mention app quality, UPI scale, or API work if you can point to something you actually used or built. It is not fair to recite a press release. One true sentence (“I have used the app to split rent and I want to know how those ledgers stay consistent”) beats a paragraph of “innovation in BFSI.” Interviewers have heard the paragraph.
Tech: OA → technical → HR. Officer: aptitude → GD/interview → HR. ABYB: L1 test → L2 AI video → paid training year → AM joining. Campus often 2-6 weeks; ABYB is ~12 months.
Usually 3 on tech/officer campus loops. ABYB is two assessment levels before admission. Count the mailer.
Yes. Free Axis Bank placement papers PDF and 2024-2026 style practice are on this site. Start with the 2026 PDF or the archive.
A ~12-month Manipal-partnered path (classroom, internship, OJT) then a sales/AM role. L1 + L2 selection. Program fee applies. Not a free campus tech CTC.
No. Private careers process. No IBPS allotment into Axis.
Commonly 60%+ through school and graduation, no active backlogs, program-specific degrees. Verify the notice.
Campus chatter ₹5-10 LPA (tech often ₹5-8). ABYB AM ~₹4.2-4.4 LPA. RM/CSO can be lower plus incentives. Letter wins.
Often. Mumbai HQ, tech in Bengaluru/Hyderabad/Pune, branches pan-India. ABYB OJT can be the final posting. Be honest.
Match track: aptitude + talk for officer/ABYB; aptitude + SQL/code for tech. Details: preparation guide.
Java, Python, SQL. Branch paths do not need LeetCode.
Sometimes on officer loops. Tech may skip. ABYB uses AI video. Prepare a 60-second banking opinion either way.
Axis/HDFC: private, own tests, more sales/tech mix. Canara: IBPS PSU, Scale-I, rural posting as a PSU story. Write three Whys.
Name the program first. Then either camera/GD plus products, or SQL plus easy code. Do not mix ABYB fee with campus CTC in your head.
Not as the main filter. L1 is aptitude; L2 is video. Save Burst Balloons for Samsung week.
No. Recent FAQs describe a small classroom stipend, then salary after joining as an employee. CTC is the later AM number, not ₹5,000 × 12.
Axis Bank interview experience and the Internshala-style overview linked there. Maps, not scripts.
Yes, if calendars allow. Use different Whys. Do not tell the tech panel your only plan is sales training, and do not tell ABYB you will quit for Bengaluru SDE in three months.
Some training and officer programs have service conditions. ABYB has fee and joining rules on its brochure. Read the letter. Do not trust a Telegram “no bond” screenshot.
Aptitude, then a conversation that mixes “what is NPA” with “tell me about yourself.” People who only practised DI and never spoke lose here. Takeaway: 90-second intro + three products.
OA with aptitude and a light coding/SQL pair, then Java collections and a project. HR on Mumbai vs Bengaluru. Takeaway: keep joins warm.
L1 feels like a bank aptitude mock. L2 feels like a recorded interview. Then a fee decision. Takeaway: read the brochure before you celebrate “selection.”
Program names first. Do not memorise one Internshala question list as the 2026 paper.
Days 1-3: daily aptitude.
Days 4-5: products + one STAR.
Days 6-7: SQL/code or camera intro (match track).
Day 8: full mock.
Day 9: Why Axis vs HDFC.
Day 10: sleep.
Private bank, digital, growth, not “I did not clear IBPS.” If you also sit HDFC, name a real difference (program, city, tech vs branch). If you also sit Canara, do not pretend Axis is a PSU.
Rank Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and “any branch” before HR. Ghosting a Jaipur branch after ABYB OJT helps nobody.
More: interview experience.
If you cannot pay the program fee, do not use ABYB as your only Axis plan. Campus tech and careers roles exist without that structure.
09:00 aptitude 60 minutes.
11:00 SQL or products.
16:00 recorded intro.
17:00 Why Axis.
Night: sleep.
Weeks 1-2: aptitude and 10 product flash cards. Week 3: first mock, failed English. Week 4: RC + intro recording. Week 5: SQL if tech, GD if officer. Week 6: real OA, interview asked “Why not HDFC,” answer already written. No paid personality course required.
Private peers share aptitude + talk. SBI is a PSU exam. Keep shared DI mornings and different Whys. Do not tell Axis you “just want any bank.”
If you sit HDFC the same month, write two private-bank paragraphs. More: interview experience.
| Question | Lean ABYB | Lean campus tech |
|---|---|---|
| Do you want a sales/AM start? | Yes | No |
| Can you fund the program fee? | Yes, with eyes open | Prefer a salaried join |
| Is your coding/SQL bar campus-ready? | Not required | Required |
| Will you take any-India OJT? | Must | City still asked |
| Timeline | ~12 months | Weeks |
If both are open, you can sit both. You should not use one Why for both rooms. ABYB wants a banker who will sell. Tech wants someone who will not drop a join in production. Pretending otherwise is how HR starts skimming.
If you are on a tech loop, still learn CASA and UPI so HR is not empty. You do not need the whole JAIIB syllabus.
HR will not always say “targets.” The job may still have them, especially RM/ABYB. A usable sentence: you understand private-bank growth is measured, you can work a roster, and you still want to learn products properly. A usable sentence is not “I will never make calls” if you ticked a sales program. If you cannot say the first sentence, pick the tech JD or a PSU exam instead.
Students treat city as a last slide. For Axis it is the job:
If you will only join Bengaluru tech, do not apply to a pan-India AM program and look shocked. If you will join a branch, practise one local-language greeting if the state is known.
Week 1: aptitude every morning; decide fee/city at night.
Week 2: SQL + one easy code and a recorded intro (you may need both).
Week 3: products + Why Axis vs HDFC.
Week 4: two full aptitude mocks, one mock technical or one mock L2, documents, sleep.
Do not start a new CFA-style finance course in this window. Axis fresher loops are not that exam.
Admit/email, photo ID, working laptop camera, charger, a quiet room for ABYB L2, and the program name written on a sticky note so you do not say “SBI” by accident. It happens more than seniors admit.
