| Route | What usually changes | What stays the same |
|---|---|---|
| Campus | Batch OA window, college 60% list | Aptitude + basics bar |
| Careers portal | Resume volume; role titles (trainee, tester, infra) | Still expect a test + interviews |
| Off-campus posters | BCA/B.Sc sometimes included | Coding/SQL still show up |
Off-campus does not mean easier aptitude. Sectional cutoffs still remove people who only practised coding.
Is 6.0 CGPA / 60% enough? It matches the commonly reported floor, often across 10th, 12th, and graduation. Selection still hinges on OA accuracy and a project you can explain. A 6.1 with clean sectional mocks beats a 7.8 who fails verbal cutoff.
Branches: CS/IT/ECE and many circuit branches appear. Some trainee/infra posts list BCA/B.Sc. If the college notice says “CS/IT only,” do not assume ECE is in.
Gaps and backlogs: Active backlogs are the usual blocker at joining. A short gap needs a skills story. Lying about 60% in 12th is an HR integrity fail.
What helps the resume screen: One project with a database or a small Java/Python service, any internship, honest SQL. SAP badges are optional extras - they do not replace OA mocks. See certifications after fundamentals.

Minimum CGPA required (candidate-reported): 6.0+ CGPA / 60% is the commonly cited campus floor. Treat it as a shortlisting filter when printed - Birlasoft still decides on OA sectionals and interview narration.
Birlasoft shortlists on academics when the JD prints a floor, then filters hard on the Assessment. Clearing 60% only gets you into the funnel - aptitude speed decides whether you see an interviewer.
Birlasoft does not publish one universal India cutoff. Your placement cell mailer always wins.

Previous year question papers
Birlasoft does not publish one permanent official paper set. “Previous year papers” on this site are pattern trainers - not leaked live assessments.
| Round (typical) | What to practice |
|---|---|
| Online Test | Timed sectional accuracy: quant, logic, verbal, tech MCQ, easy coding |
| Technical | CS fundamentals, SQL, project, light ERP talk |
| HR | Why Birlasoft, relocation, bond/probation questions if any |
How Birlasoft papers differ from a product-company pack. A Walmart/MathWorks-style PDF is coding-first. A Birlasoft-style set is sectionals-first. If you only download the coding chapter, you are practising the smallest reject reason. Put quant/logic/verbal in the same sitting as the two easies. That is the whole point of “previous year papers” here. Print or screenshot the sectional order from your invite the day it arrives and rerun one mock in that exact order. Swapping verbal to the end “because coding matters more” is how people miss a cutoff they would have cleared on a timed RC block.
Do not “finish the coding PDF” and call the sitting done. The reject that shows up in campus groups is almost always a sectional - verbal left blank, or logic puzzles that ate quant time. If your mock platform does not lock sections, fake the lock with a phone timer per block. That is closer to Cocubes/AMCAT-style drives than an honour-system mix.
| Theme you saw in a set | What to drill next | Why Birlasoft asks it |
|---|---|---|
| Time-work / percentages | Ratio, P&L, DI | Sectional OA volume |
| Syllogism / puzzles | Sitting arrangement | Logic cutoff |
| Reading comprehension | Grammar speed | Verbal sectional |
| Reverse a string / unique char | Arrays, hashing | Easy coding gate |
| SQL JOIN / GROUP BY | Nested queries | Enterprise data talk |
| OOP pillars | Small class example | Technical round staple |
2024 PDFs often drill “first unique character.” Own the frequency map, then a related problem that returns counts. That transfers; memorising the prompt does not.
Birlasoft hires freshers through campus placement cells, birlasoft.com careers, and referrals. After resume screen, the shape is mid-tier IT services: timed OA, then fundamentals + project, then HR.
Campus recruitment
Through college placement cells - PPT, then OA and interviews on a batch timeline.
Online applications
Apply on birlasoft.com careers; follow the invite for platform and duration.
Referrals
Employee referrals improve visibility. You still need passing sectionals and a clear project story.
Placement cell or recruiter checks 10th/12th/grad 60% when printed, backlogs, and batch year. This is a gate - the Assessment is the volume filter.
Candidate reports commonly describe a multi-section test. Treat the table as a working map, not a sealed blueprint.
| Section (typical) | Questions (reported range) | Time feel | Focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quantitative | ~15-25 | ~25-35 min | Arithmetic, DI |
| Logical reasoning | ~10-20 | ~20-25 min | Puzzles, syllogism |
| Verbal | ~10-20 | ~15-25 min | RC, grammar |
| Technical MCQs | ~10-20 | ~15-25 min | OOP, DBMS, OS |
| Coding | 1-2 easy/medium | ~20-40 min | Arrays, strings, basics |
Languages: Java, SQL, Python. Platforms: Cocubes, AMCAT, MeritTrac and similar appear - confirm yours.
Pass bar in practice: Sectional cutoffs. A brilliant coding solution with a failed verbal section still dies. Easy complete code beats a half-finished clever one.
Sectional survival rules students actually use:
If your college has a previous Birlasoft shortlist, ask seniors which section killed people - it is usually verbal or logic, not the “hard coding” myth.
Student tip: Watch the timer per section. Skip a sticky puzzle; never leave an entire verbal set untouched.
| Minute | Move |
|---|---|
| 0-5 | Read section rules / cutoffs if shown |
| 5-35 | Quant - mark and move |
| 35-55 | Logic |
| 55-75 | Verbal |
| 75-95 | Technical MCQs |
| 95-115 | Coding: easier problem first |
| 115-120 | Flagged 1-markers only |
Deeper OA notes: Birlasoft Online Assessment.
Video or onsite. Expect CS fundamentals, SQL, a project walkthrough, and 1-2 easy coding or pseudocode questions. Implementation-leaning panels add “what is ERP / SAP / Oracle?” at fresher depth.
You should:
Worked mini-outline - order-to-cash in plain words: Customer order → check stock → invoice → payment → update books. That is enough ERP talk for most fresher panels. Do not recite module codes you cannot expand.
SQL you should be able to write on a whiteboard (or shared editor):
-- customers and their order totalsSELECT c.name, COUNT(o.id) AS orders, SUM(o.amount) AS spendFROM customers cLEFT JOIN orders o ON o.customer_id = c.idGROUP BY c.nameHAVING COUNT(o.id) >= 1;If that query feels foreign, that is a better this-week drill than a new SAP YouTube playlist. Technical panels at enterprise firms use SQL as a proxy for “can you touch business data without breaking it.”
OOP in one minute: Pick a class from your project (Order, Ticket, Student). Name one field, one method, one place you used a list/map, and what would break if you made everything public. That beats reciting four pillars from a blog.
Why Birlasoft (CK Birla + enterprise digital, not “any IT job”), relocation, night-shift/client location willingness, strengths-weaknesses with proof. Know the ₹4-6.5 LPA band so CTC talk is grounded.

If a Birlasoft invite is 3-8 weeks out, treat this hub as the map and the linked practice pages as the drills. Do not reread eligibility ten times. Check the JD once, then spend hours on the filter that actually rejects people.
Typical fresher CTC chatter for Birlasoft sits around ₹4-6.5 LPA (candidate-reported - confirm the letter). Languages students mention most often: Java, Python, C, SQL. Pick one and stay with it in OA and interviews.
Eligibility reminder (from student reports): Birlasoft eligibility for freshers 2026 is candidate-reported, not one official published cutoff. Common campus baseline: B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA (and some BCA/B.Sc CS posts); typically 6.0+ CGPA / 60% across 10th, 12th, and graduation; no active backlogs preferred; final-year students and recent graduates. Always verify the drive notice or birlasoft.com careers posting.
What you are training for: Birlasoft fresher loops commonly run: Birlasoft Assessment (aptitude + reasoning + verbal + technical MCQs + basic coding, often ~90-120 min) → Technical (CS fundamentals, SQL, projects, light enterprise awareness) → HR. Campus batches often finish in about 2-4 weeks; off-campus can stretch.
Short version of the prep split: Treat Birlasoft as a classic IT-services plus enterprise-apps filter. Split time roughly: 35% aptitude speed, 30% coding basics + SQL, 20% CS fundamentals (OOP, DBMS, OS), 15% HR + SAP/Oracle vocabulary. Clear timed OA mocks before deep ERP reading.
Week 1 - pattern, not vibes. Timed aptitude + one easy coding problem a day, plus a one-page cs fundamentals sheet. Open the Birlasoft previous-year sets on this site and mark which sections ate your time. Write the timing on a sticky note. That number is more useful than a 200-problem LeetCode streak you never timed.
Week 2 - the steep filter. Most Birlasoft drives fail people on the first timed paper or OA. Do three timed sits this week. After each one, log every miss in a two-column note: topic and why (slow, wrong formula, bad edge case, panic). The next sit should only add problems from that log.
Week 3 - talk tracks. Technical interviews at Birlasoft usually want a clean project story, one or two CS fundamentals, and (if the process has it) a behavioral or values round. Write STAR stories on paper, not in your head. Practise “Why Birlasoft?” with one concrete product, lab, or business line - not a slogan.
Week 4 - mocks and logistics. Two full mocks, then only error-log topics - no new patterns. If you still have energy, redo only the questions you failed in week 2.
| Slice | Share of weekly hours | What “done” looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Timed papers / OA | ~40% | You finish a Birlasoft-style sit without guessing the clock |
| Coding / role technical | ~30% | You can explain a solution out loud in your chosen language |
| Fundamentals / domain | ~20% | You can teach one OS/DBMS/networks (or domain) topic to a friend |
| Stories + HR | ~10% | Two STAR stories and a specific Why-this-company answer |
If you only have 10 days, keep the same ratios and cut volume, not the timed sits.
Use this hub for the Birlasoft story (eligibility, rounds, salary). Use those pages for timed reps and interview notes.
If you do one thing after reading this: schedule three timed Birlasoft papers on three different days, then interview prep on the leftovers.
A TCS/Infosys aptitude deck still helps the quant/logic slice of many Birlasoft papers, but do not assume the same cutoff culture. Read the process section on this page once, then swap in Birlasoft-specific coding or domain drills from the nested banks. Shared prep is fine; shared assumptions about rounds are not.
Days 1-3: one timed Birlasoft paper each day plus error log. Days 4-6: only the topics you missed, plus 4-6 coding problems in one language. Days 7-8: project + STAR + Why Birlasoft. Day 9: one more full mock. Day 10: light review and sleep. This is worse than four weeks, but it beats rereading notes the night before.
Know your project at the level of what broke and what you changed, not only the tech list on the resume. For Birlasoft, interviewers often poke the same hole the OA already tested - be ready to re-solve a warm question on a shared editor or whiteboard. If you used AI to draft code while practising, you still need to type it yourself on the day.
A single note with date, paper name, score/time, and three misses is enough. If you cannot name your last three Birlasoft mistakes, you are collecting content, not preparing.
Figures below are candidate-reported India bands (as of August 2026).
| Band | Typical CTC (candidate-reported) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Fresher / trainee / ASE-style | ₹4-6.5 LPA | Primary band for this hub |
| Specialist laterals | Higher, experience-based | Outside fresher campus default |
| Intern / apprentice posts | Stipend, not FTE CTC | Read the JD |
Confirm base, variable, training period, and any service agreement on the written offer.
Fixed vs training stipend. Some letters quote a headline LPA that starts after a classroom/on-the-job window. Ask: “What is paid in month 1-3, and when does the quoted CTC start?” That one question prevents a bad surprise more than arguing the headline number. Location also moves take-home (HRA norms differ Pune vs Noida vs Bengaluru) - ask, do not assume a blog’s in-hand figure.
Know the ₹4-6.5 LPA context, ask how training months are paid, and clarify joining vs exams. Calm beats aggressive negotiation with no anchor. If the letter has a training stipend, write both numbers down before you compare with a friend’s Coforge screenshot.
Typical path: Birlasoft Assessment (~90-120 min, aptitude + tech + coding) → Technical → HR. Campus batches often finish in about 2-4 weeks. Confirm round names on your invite.
Most fresher loops report three stages. Some add GD or a second technical. Count the mailer.
Yes. Free 2024-2026 style practice sets are on this site - pattern trainers, not leaked live papers. Start with the 2026 PDF or the paper archive.
Candidate-reported OA is often ~90-120 minutes with quant, logic, verbal, technical MCQs, and 1-2 coding problems. Sectional cutoffs are common. Platforms vary.
Commonly reported floor: 6.0+ CGPA / 60% (often 10th, 12th, graduation), relevant degree, no active backlogs preferred. Your drive notice overrides this page.
Candidate-reported CTC often lands around ₹4-6.5 LPA (as of August 2026). The written offer is the only number that matters.
Pune, Noida, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad are the usual hubs. Client locations can appear later. Be honest in HR.
35% aptitude, 30% coding+SQL, 20% CS fundamentals, 15% HR/ERP. Clear timed sectional mocks first. Details: preparation guide.
Java, SQL, and Python are the usual set. Confirm on the invite. Do not switch the week of the drive.
No for campus fresher. Know what ERP is and one business process. Badges help after you can clear OA and SQL.
Similar mid-tier services CTC and aptitude OAs. Birlasoft’s differentiator is CK Birla + SAP/Oracle enterprise talk. Prep the same OA muscles; customise the one-liner.
Protect every sectional cutoff, bank the easy coding problem, keep JOINs warm, and rehearse one project plus a 60-second ERP explanation. Aptitude speed beats a last-week DP binge.
Start with Birlasoft interview experience on this site, then recent campus threads. Patterns shift - use them as maps.
Some IT-services offers include a training/probation window and a notice or agreement clause. Ask HR what the written letter says. Do not sign based on a WhatsApp summary. CTC during training can differ from the headline LPA.
Possible, depending on the batch and client. That is why the hub says read the JD. If you only want product-SWE work, say so early and compare peers (Coforge, LTTS, product companies) instead of being surprised in month two. Implementation tracks still need SQL and communication.
Some off-campus trainee/infra/tester posts list BCA or B.Sc CS/IT. Core campus ASE-style drives often stay B.E./B.Tech/MCA. The mailer/JD is the list - do not apply blindly to every Birlasoft poster.
Candidate reports lean on percentages, ratios, time-work, profit-loss, DI, syllogism, seating, and RC. That is a standard Indian IT OA mix. Drill timed sets, not 400 untimed PDFs.
Profile patterns that got selected: ~6.2-7.5 CGPA, 60% throughout when listed, one project with a database, decent English, aptitude practice that was actually timed.
Online test: Sectional cutoffs did most of the rejection. Students who spent 50 minutes on one coding problem and left verbal half-empty did not advance. Easy complete code beat clever incomplete code.
Technical: “Explain normalization,” “write a join,” “OOP with your project class,” “what is SAP?” at fresher depth. Group-project honesty mattered.
HR: Relocation, family constraints, why not higher studies, why Birlasoft vs a larger IT brand. Short STAR answers worked.
Takeaway: aptitude stamina + SQL + one honest project beats a high CGPA with zero mocks.
What hurt candidates: skipping verbal; faking SAP T-codes; cannot explain their own GitHub; refusing all cities in HR; treating ₹4-6.5 LPA as negotiable like a product offer.
2025-style trainee/infra posters listed B.E./B.Tech and BCA/B.Sc, locations including Pune/Bangalore/Hyderabad/Noida/Mumbai/Chennai, and a screen → technical test → technical interview → HR flow. Same lesson: read that JD; do not assume every post is Java SDE.
Two composite campus stories (pattern, not a promise):
Selected (tier-2 CSE, 6.4 CGPA). Timed aptitude every evening for three weeks. OA: cleared all sectionals, finished one easy coding problem, left a second medium incomplete. Technical: explained a college library project’s tables, wrote a JOIN, defined encapsulation with that project’s Book class, said “ERP is the system companies use to run finance/HR/supply chain; Birlasoft does a lot of SAP/Oracle work” without module codes. HR: agreed to Pune, knew ₹4-6.5 LPA. Offer in about two weeks.
Rejected (7.9 CGPA, no mocks). Spent the OA on one coding problem, skipped verbal. Would have had a decent technical. Never saw it.
Week-of-drive list: platform login, sectional timer practice, 20 SQL queries on a sample schema, two STAR stories, city list you can actually join, 60% marksheets if HR asks to reconfirm.
Enterprise one-liner you can reuse: “I want to learn how real companies run orders and finance in SAP/Oracle landscapes, and I can already write SQL and basic Java.” I know I will not be a consultant on day one.” That is more hireable than a fake Activate certification.
More narratives: Birlasoft interview experience.
