This guide is tailored to HCL’s placement process: a 90-minute online assessment (aptitude, technical, coding) with sectional and overall cutoffs (~60–65%), followed by technical and HR interviews. Eligibility is 6.0 CGPA / 60% minimum; fresher role is Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) with package ₹4–4.5 LPA.

WeekFocus
1Aptitude: quant and logical reasoning daily. Start programming basics and 1–2 easy coding problems per day.
2Continue aptitude; add verbal (RC, grammar). Technical: OOPs and DBMS. Coding: array and string problems.
3Full-length HCL-style mocks (90 min). Revise all sections; strengthen weak areas. Practice at least 1 coding problem daily.
4Mock tests + interview prep: project summary, “tell me about yourself,” why HCL, HR answers. Revise CS fundamentals for technical round.
  • iEngage / assessment platform: If your college uses a specific HCL platform, practice in a similar environment (timed, no negative marking).
  • Sectional cutoffs: Don’t ignore any section; aim for ~65% overall and at least one fully solved coding problem.
  • Technical round: Be ready to write code on paper or shared editor; explain approach and mention complexity where you can.
  • HR: Research HCL’s services and values; prepare a clear “Why HCL?” and keep answers concise.

Freshers join as Graduate Engineer Trainee with ₹4–4.5 LPA (total compensation). With 1–2 years experience, Associate roles are in the ₹6–7 LPA range. Performing well in the OA and interviews maximizes your chance for the GET role and growth.
